April is the cruelest month April 5, 2010

Poor Easter doggy. Mr. Bear and I saw these on display at the Superstore this afternoon. After laughing ourselves foolish, we picked it up for a friend of ours.

Happy Easter, kid. Sorry your dog hasn’t got a face, but times are tough for the Easter Bunny. Maybe you’ll get the face for Christmas.

Happy Easter! I took this picture at work the other day. Yesterday was my last day of work in Charlottetown. This time next week, I’ll be in Moncton. It’s a beautiful day here in Charlottetown… I hope to get out and enjoy it!

When a best friend brings you cupcakes like these, you know you’re going to miss her when you move.

2 partners-in-crime, 3 provinces March 29, 2010

I’m going to be living in Moncton, NB in less than two weeks. Molly Sue will still be in PEI, and DeeDee will still be in NS. I will be without partners-in-crime. What will I do? What if no one will play with me at recess when I’m in Moncton? What if nobody lets me sit with them at lunch?

Actually, I’m pretty excited to have yet another fresh start. Do you have any advice for me so I can make new friends?

Mr Bear came back and took me out for dinner! I ate far too much and now feel like my tummy is very angry. The only Thai phrase I know is ‘my eyes are bigger than my stomach’. I’m not sure how to spell it, but boy, I’m saying it my head right now. Urp, indeed.

When was that last time you had big eyes and ate far too much?

Molly Sue is engaged! Isn’t that a gorgeous ring? I’m thrilled for her! She got engaged on Friday night.

My bridesmaid duties have started already. We spent the afternoon smirking our way through a bridal fair. How we managed not to choke on that much tulle is beyond me. The Corinthian columns! The crunchy curled hair! The bottom-of-the-barrel wedding gowns! It was absolutely glorious, and pretty much the opposite of anything Molly Sue wants for her wedding. We did some some lovely makeup, floral arrangements, and had some delicious cake, so there was some success. And we didn’t get tossed for being smart-alecky, so even more success!

If I ever decide to get married, DeeDee and Molly Sue (along with my lovely sisters) will be the cutest Bo Peeps in the world. Just you wait and see.

Molly Sue keeps threatening me with Cape Breton tartan taffeta, so I need to behave myself.

I was at work yesterday and it wasn’t very busy. Early on in the day, there was only one customer in the store – a lovely Asian woman with a very cool lunch bag. I went over to her, gave her a giant smile, and told her that I loved the bag. She didn’t speak any English, but she smiled back. She looked around the store for a little while longer. About 30 minutes later, she came up to the cash with her husband. She grabs my hands, and starts speaking to her husband.

He tells me that his wife doesn’t speak any English, but she knew that I liked her lunch bag. He told me they were visiting from Taiwan, and that they loved the store. His wife wanted me to know that she really liked me, and wanted me to have her cool little bag. They’re everywhere in Taiwan, so she will pick one up when she gets home. I thought this was really sweet, and it totally made my day.

How fun is this bag?

I am so tired tonight, but I thought I would post a picture of happiness. I don’t drink the Kool-Aid, or even the the Kool-Aid knockoffs, but I like the colourfulness of this picture. I love the Bulk Barn. The one in C-town is just a few doors down from work. When I go there, I usually pick up some almonds, dark chocolate bark, and large gummy bears.

What do you get on your trips to the Bulk Barn?

Downtown Charlottetown this afternoon February 28, 2010

This is one of the side streets parallel to one of the busiest downtown streets. I took some pictures of Queen street, which was also empty. The only people downtown were buying treats for this afternoon. Apparently, there was a hockey game on. I’m not entirely sure who was playing, or who won, but downtown was dead.

Hahaha – Canada has gone insane. Good job at the Olympics! My mom has probably exploded with glee over a little hometown kid named Sid.
