Mohinga! November 13, 2011

Filed under: uncategorized — jlmack @ 5:48 pm

I went to Delightfully Delicious to have some mohinga. It was absolutely glorious. The chef used lotus stems instead of the traditional banana stems, which is a delicious substitution. He also used tilapia instead of yellow catfish, which also worked. I think all soups should have lemongrass, ginger, and chilies.

I wasn’t charged for my bowl of happiness, and they even gave me some to take home. They were just thrilled to share their family meal with me.

I’ll never eat off the menu again… just give me the staff meal, please!

That means I’ve got to post every day. Right? DeeDee will skin me if I don’t. Time to turn off Beverly Hills, 90210 reruns on Netflix and get started!

I’ve been running. Lots. I’ll get some pictures this week and share them.

A new hat for me! November 12, 2010

Filed under: uncategorized — jlmack @ 11:08 pm

I’m knitting me a new hat! I hope to have it done this weekend. It’s Meret (Mystery Beret) from Woolly Wormhead. I’ve knit it before in a variegated yarn; this time, I’m using Nature Spun in Brick Road. I’ll post pictures tomorrow of the WIP.

Oh, and I’m FINALLY going to get home for a few days! Yup, the last weekend of this month, I’ll be Halifax-bound. I can’t wait to see my family, DeeDee, a certain rabid Leafs fan, and my knittah chix. Wheeeee!

Monkeytown! April 10, 2010

Filed under: uncategorized — jlmack @ 5:04 pm

I’m heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere! Monkeytown, watch out. I will post a picture of the lovely housewarming gift the last tenant left for me. I saw it and knew that I made the right choice moving in this place. Honestly, I think we may have been sisters in a former life.
